How many Spotify users are there? (data from 2023)

Spotify is the largest music streaming service in the world, with over 517 million users as of 2023, which equated to 22.7 percent growth from 2022. 

They're the second most visited website in the Arts and Entertainment category, and the 65th most visited site globally, as of June 2023.

• Total users: Spotify reports its user tally at about 517 million worldwide.
• In 2015 their number was about 68 million.
• Paid memberships: Roughly 229 million users are subscribed to Spotify Premium.
• Ad-Supported Listeners: Ad-supported Spotify users are around 300 million in 2023.
• Finances and Losses: Despite these numbers, Spotify reported nearly a $300 million loss in 2022.
• User demographics: Most Spotify users worldwide are aged 18 to 34, accounting for approximately 62 percent of Spotify’s active user base. These numbers are roughly the same in the United States.

Here are some numbers on Spotify's monthly website traffic, according to Similarweb.

• In June of 2023, 491.8 million users accessed Spotify's platform.
• An average, each user visited a total of 5.92 pages per session.
• On average, users spent roughly 8 minutes and 11 seconds on the site.
• Roughly 78 percent of Spotify's traffic is direct, meaning they do not come through search engines or referrals from other websites. Rather, users are typing the URL into the address bar or clicking on a bookmarked tab.
