How much does the Marshall JCM 800 cost?
Currently ERROR
The legendary Marshall JCM 800 is still on the market, available brand new from most major instrument retailers. But what can you expect to pay? Currently, the JCM 800 is retailing for ERROR on Sweetwater.

The Marshall JCM 800 (specifically the lead series) is one of the most popular amps that has ever existed. It has been used by countless pros for decades, spawning a ton of custom models and different versions of the amp head. But the original is still in production and can be found on several major retailers.
We've put together a simple price guide to cover where you can get the JCM 800 and who has the best price. Keep in mind, pricing for this type of amp isn't likely to change often, or to deviate between vendors, but if you just want a live/current look at where the market stands, we've got it here.
Important note: Do not get the Marshall JCM 800 Studio Classic mixed up with the JCM 800 Lead Series.
The model we're looking for is the JCM 800 2203x.
We'll look at comparison tables first.
Our price guides are not a review or recommendation of the product in question. That said, we rarely write price guides for products we don't like an/or use ourselves. Also note that we use orange retailer buttons to support ourselves. If you click through and make a purchase, we might earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Reverb Listings
Reverb is the used market we recommend most for musical instruments. And while it typically has more of the JCM 800 Studio Classic, you can almost always find a few JCM 800 Lead Series amps.
Depending on when you check, discounts can be really steep. We've seen them come down to around $2000.
Here's a price from Reverb that updates daily, and includes the number of Marshall JCM 800s that they have in stock, as well as the lowest price among them.

Cheaper Alternatives
As we've already mentioned, the JCM 800 Studio Classic is much cheaper. We'd recommend that as the most ideal alternative, though here are some few others that you should also check out:
- Marshall SV20H
- Marshall SC20H
- Marshall DSL100HR
- Marshall ORI50H
These are all great amplifiers that are cheaper than the JCM 800 Lead Series (some way cheaper), but still capture the vibe and feel of vintage Marshall tone.
Conclusion
The JCM 800 Lead Series is not a great amp if you're looking for a deal or bargain. It's a pro-level solution and priced according to its quality, longevity, and popularity. We wouldn't recommend holding your breath on a significant discount.
If you've settled on it, just go ahead and buy one.
Look on Reverb and eBay first, if you don't mind buying used or secondhand. Otherwise stick to a new option from a company that'll provide support after your purchase.
