Signature Electric Guitar Released
Fender releases a second (more affordable) version of the Mike McCready signature Stratocaster
The original Mike McCready Signature Stratocaster was built in the Fender Custom Shop. And, as we see with most FCS guitars, it was very rare and very expensive, to the tune of $15,000.
Cost-prohibitive to say the least.
But this year, Fender has released a new version of that same Stratocaster that's accessible to the average electric guitar buyer.

It's a replica of Mike's 1960 Stratocaster, with a similar level of detail as the Custom Shop version, including the road worn look and discolored tone knob. I'm not going to compare the Custom Shop version to this one, because it honestly, doesn't really matter.
The new one is retailing for $1900, but check the price guide below in case price and/or availability have changed.
Here are a few features to note:
- Fender '60s style McCready signature pickups
- Slim C neck shape (bolt on)
- Vintage Strat tremolo (6 saddle)

Seems like the Stratocaster to end all Stratocasters.
I would expect this version to sell pretty well, even among a slew of Fender Signature Stratocasters. The aesthetics alone really scream "Fender Strat", without regard to McCready's name attached to it.
It's just a great looking guitar.
