This is a page that lists reverb pedals under $100 that we recommend. In other words, they aren't just cheap, but they're actually high-value, giving you a deal and some quality in the process. I build lists like this based on personal experience, knowledge of the market, brand reputation, and other musician's opinions.
With reverb pedals under $100, we're looking for the following features:
- Decent tone quality
- Reputable brand name (JHS and Fender instead of Behringer and Donner)
- Reverb modes (multiple algorithms)
- At least two EQ options
You usually will not see analog reverb pedals in this price range, since those are more expensive to manufacture. They're also commonly made by boutique builders and are generally more rare.
True bypass connections are hit or miss.
While these features are nice to have, they're certainly not deal breakers. You can still get a great reverb pedal in this price range. Let's start with the comparison table and our list:
Compare Table of Reverb Pedals Under $100
In this table we've included five reverb pedals under $100 that we can confidently recommend. If you want to share thoughts or recommend an addition to this table, you can do so via the comments section below this article. Use the comparison buttons to look at more details and pricing for each pedal.
Note that this is not a ranking of pedals, but simply a list of options that falls within a particular parameter - the $100 price cap. Also, we support ourselves by partnering with great companies like Sweetwater, but at no extra cost to you. If you need to buy gear, consider doing so through our links because we might get money and be happy. We're not desperate, per say.

Price Tracking
In this section we've put in some price tracking tools for these pedals, which are particularly helpful in this case since we're targeting a specific price range. The issue is that pedals change pricing somewhat frequently, but these tracking tools are updated in real time and should help you keep up with the changes, whether they go up or down.
JSH 3 Series Reverb
The 3 Series pedals from JHS are great sub-$100 options, though we've noticed some larger retailers - Walmart specifically - run the price up over $100.

Price Alert based on Lowest Retail
You can sign up for a price alert here, which is based on the lowest retail of all the above listed vendors. Often it's eBay that's the most likely to drop.

TC Electronic Fluorescence Shimmer Reverb

At the time of publishing this page, the Shimmer was holding onto the sub-$100 price cap for dear life. Both eBay and Amazon were actually charging over $100, while Sweetwater was holding the lowest price at $99.
That could easily have changed by the time you're reading this, so check the tables below for the most recent price.

TC Electronic Skysurfer Reverb
The Skysurfer is more safely below $100, especially on Sweetwater. Once again - and strangely - Amazon and eBay seem to run up the price on this one.

JHS 3 Series Hall Reverb

This is the Hall version of the 3 Series reverb we listed earlier, which is essentially just a different algorithm/mode. While they could have simply put this mode in the original 3 Series reverb, separating them helps to keep both reverb pedals below $100.

Fender Hammertone Reverb
Fender has been putting out more pedals lately, and the Hammertone series is their newest offering. These are a cheaper alternative to their first series of pedals, retailing just under the $100 mark, or cheaper in some cases.

Current Reverb Pricing
Like we said about the the Skysurfer, newer pedals like this take awhile to show up in the used market. Then it takes additional time for the price to come down. As the supply of a pedal in the used market increases, the cost tends to drop (basic economics). Check back or sign up for the price alert to keep an eye on things.

How cheap is "too cheap"?
There are some really cheap reverb pedals on Amazon and a few in places like Sweetwater and Musicians Friend. These are brands like Donner, Azor, and Mosky - which are usually some weird overseas concoction. We would recommend avoiding these brands entirely.
Even Behringer pedals, which are carried by a lot of major retailers, are a little to0 cheap for me to be comfortable with.
I'd avoid those as well.
Generally, if a pedal is less than $50 - especially in a high-inflation economic climate - you're getting a mass-produced unit with really cheap parts and bulk-made interior electronics.
To get the price of any pedal - reverb or otherwise - that low, you have to cut some serious corners in production.
Most of the time, your floor is $70. I wouldn't go much lower.
What if I want something more expensive/nicer?
We've built a page covering our six favorite reverb pedals, which are all units we've bought and tested. Rather than rehash that information here, I'll just refer you to that page which covers everything you need to know if you want something more mid-grade or even high-end.

Best Reverb Pedal from this List
From this list, the first JHS reverb is probably your best option. It's not particularly flexible, but it gets you a decent-sounding ambient pedal with a three-band EQ and a pre-delay switch. It's also true bypass.
Best Brand for Reverb Pedals Under $100
As you can tell the brands are limited here, but JHS and TC Electronic are by far your best options. For cheaper pedals, they're frequently putting out great units for the price.
Additional Vendors for Price Trackers
Our price trackers have to connect to something called an API, which requires an agreement between Guitar Chalk and each vendors. Even then, some of them can be setup differently, which is why we have the Reverb listing separate. As soon as we're able to work those details out with vendors, we'll start listing them in our price trackers.
We're working on getting setup with Guitar Center and Musician's Friend next. Hopefully by the time you read this, it'll already be done.
Conclusion
Cheap pedals are a gamble, but we're fairly confident in the brand reputation and the quality of these effects. They're a particularly good investment if you have an amp without built-in reverb.
If you have questions about the pedals or the pricing tools on this page, feel free to drop those in the comments section below.
Hopefully we'll see you there.
