Fender Telecaster Dimensions: The Quick Answer
The body is typically 17" x 13" by 1.75".
The body of a Telecaster is what people are usually looking for when they want dimensions. However, control plate, bridge, and neck are also part of a Fender Telecaster's measurements.

First, we should note that the dimensions of a Fender Telecaster are subject to change depending on a wide range of factors. While we can give approximate numbers, the exact measurements can differ depending on the following variables:
- Version/series of the Telecaster (Player, Professional, etc.)
- Year of manufacturing (Past year versions could differ)
- Used/new
And it depends how specific you want to be. The dimensions we're providing are almost always going to be close. But again, we'll hedge our bets by saying it's probably not 100 percent accurate.
That said, we'll start with the Fender Telecaster body dimensions. Primarily, we're focusing on the Fender Player Telecaster.
Note that these measurements do not include Squier Telecasters.
Fender Telecaster Body Dimensions
This is what most people are concerned with when it comes to Telecaster measurements. They are approximately the following:
- Body length: 17"
- Body width: 13"
- Overall body depth: 1.75"
- Overall length: 38.5"
Neck Dimensions
Neck dimensions on all guitars are typically measured in scale length and width at the nut. The nut is where the neck meets the start of the headstock.
- Scale length: 25.5"
- Nut width: 1.65"
Neck Shape and Curve
The exact shape and curve of a Telecaster neck might vary, depending on the year and model. This is typically indicated by the radius measurement of the neck. In Fender Telecasters you most often have the following:
- Radius: 9.5"
- Neck shape: Modern C
Variations of this can come from used or modified Telecasters, as well as versions from years past. It also depends on the series of Telecaster in question, even within the same brand.
But for the most part, these measurements are going to be appreciably similar, if not identical.
Approximate Telecaster Bridge and Neck Pickup Dimensions
Pickup measurements depend on the manufacturer of the pickup. If you're replacing existing Strat pickups with new ones, pay attention to the brand (Seymour Duncan, Fender, etc.). Here are the most typical dimensions you'll have to work with.
Neck
- Length: 3.12" (including cover)
- Width 0.52"
- Height: 0.68" (including baseplate)
Bridge
- Length: 2.87"
- Width: 1.5" (including baseplate)
- Height: 0.73" (including baseplate)

Hey Warren. I’m not totally sure on that one and I don’t see much on it. TDPRI.com might be a good place to post the question.
