For a long time I’ve felt that the quality of online guitar and music education has been woefully lacking.
Guitar Chalk is simply a blog that seeks to change this trend by offering in-depth, thorough and consistent high-quality content that bucks the trend of shoddy, disorganized guitar “lessons.”
Our content is designed for both students and teachers of the guitar.
We focus not just on patterns and memorization, but on music theory and the practical application of corresponding topics.
So in other words, Guitar Chalk is about being engaged and providing each musician with the indispensable tools that drive performance.
We do not aspire to be simply a recycled hub of information or a “lesson site”. Guitar Chalk is a resource for musicians, existing for the purpose of documenting and presenting information that can tangibly help today’s guitar player.
So if you’re looking for quick, surface-level explanations or brief topical introductions, you’re in the wrong place.
We don’t take shortcuts and we don’t publish garbage.
Our editorial column consists of a bi-monthly schedule in which we publish a review, occasionally, on Monday and an educational article or lesson every other Friday.
This allows us to take the time necessary to deliver high-quality, long-form content.
Content generally shows up in one of the following three forms:
What can you expect from our content?
1. Application of guitar-related topics.
2. A comprehensive look at guitar gear and technical workings.
3. Long-form, detailed explanations.
4. A clean, polished presentation.
