Yamaha FG5 VS Martin D-18: What are the differences?
Some minor technical differences (bracing, aging process, and tuning machines), but surprisingly similar acoustic guitars, overall.
Practical differences here are slim, and even technical differences don't number as high as we thought they would. Purely based on value we'd argue that the FG5 is the better buy here, since it's so much cheaper. But that doesn't necessarily mean the D-18 is not worth it. That guitar is legendary, and has more than earned its high price tag. Preferences and nuanced technical differences are what you'll have to make a call on.
