The Behringer Wing VS the X32: What are the differences?
Channels (depending on versions), size of display, customization, and DAW integration.
There are a lot of technical weeds to get into here, which you can get via the user manuals. I'd rather focus on the practical differences, which include channel/bus count, a larger display in the WING, more customization in the WING, and better DAW integration in the X32. Price will definitely play a role here, as the X32 is significantly cheaper, but we think the WING is well worth the steeper investment.

While both mixers are a good value, the WING is the nicer of the two and certainly more customizable with a more spacious panel and interface. Image via Milton Koprosky

To account for the lower price, you get less flexibility and the panel just feels cheaper, which it is. But overall, the X32 is still an excellent value and a popular, cost-effective option for smaller studio/performance scenarios. Image via Isaac Moreno
5 Differences Between the WING and X32
- Display and Control: The WING has a larger main display and more touch-sensitive rotary controls. It also has a dedicated channel editing screen.
- Channel and Bus Counts: The WING supports more input channels and bus mixes.
- Mic Preamps: The X32 features Midas-designed preamps while the WING has Midas PRO preamps. However, the preamp type doesn't matter nearly as much when you're talking about digital mixers.
- Physical Dimensions and Weight: The WING is slightly heavier and larger than the X32.
- Unique Features: The WING emphasizes customizable controls and its source-first approach, while the X32 focuses on DAW integration and a low learning curve.
The WING or X32? What's the better value?
While both mixers can be used in a professional recording or performing capacity, the WING is the more "polished" of the two, for lack of a better word. It's more flexible and closer to what could be considered a mid-grade, pro-level mixing board, while the X32 isn't quite at the same level.
For smaller bands or perhaps home recording studios, the X32 will do the job (and probably more). But for larger groups, churches, and recording studios that serve a clientele, the WING might be the better investment.
As always, make sure you've put in the time to research things for yourself and figure out what makes the most sense for your situation.
