Fender Stratocaster Dimensions: The Quick Answer
Body Dimensions: Length: 18.1" x Width: 12.6" x Depth: 1.75" - Full length: 38.75"
Most people looking for Fender Stratocaster dimensions are referring to the body. However, we'll cover the neck and pickup dimensions as well. As always, keep in mind that these are approximate numbers are can vary, albeit slightly in most cases, between models.

It's important to recognize that the dimensions of a Fender Stratocaster can vary based on several factors. Although we can provide general measurements, the precise dimensions might differ due to the following:
- Model/series of the Stratocaster (Player, Professional, etc.)
- Manufacturing year (older models might have different specs)
- Condition (new or used)
We aim to give dimensions that are accurate, but please consider these as estimates rather than exact figures. They should be taken as approximate and not absolute. Our focus will primarily be on the Fender Player Stratocaster, though most Fender Stratocasters are similar, if not exact, in terms of dimensions and shape.
Note: These measurements do not cover Squier Stratocasters.

What are the approximate dimensions of a Fender Stratocaster? We've got 'em.
Fender Stratocaster Body Dimensions
When considering Stratocaster body sizes, these are the primary dimensions of interest:
- Body length: 18.1"
- Body width: 12.6"
- Overall body depth: 1.75"
- Overall length: 38.75"
Strat Neck Dimensions
Prefer a wider Strat neck? The American Ultra Stratocaster measures 1.685" at the nut — see our wide-neck electric guitar roundup.
Neck dimensions for guitars are usually described in terms of scale length and width at the nut, which is where the neck connects with the headstock.
- Scale length: 25.5"
- Nut width: 1.650"
Neck Shape and Curve
The shape and curvature of a Stratocaster neck can vary, often indicated by the neck's radius measurement. Generally, in Fender Stratocasters, you'll find the following:
- Radius: 9.5"
- Neck shape: Modern C
These specifications might differ in used or modified Stratocasters and in models from years past, even within the same series. However, these measurements are typically quite consistent.
Approximate Stratocaster Pickup Dimensions
Looking for different pickups? Checkout our Stratocaster pickup roundup here.
Single coil pickup sizes can vary based on the manufacturer. If you're replacing pickups, it's crucial to consider the brand (like Seymour Duncan, Fender, etc.). The common dimensions you'll encounter are the following and will be the same for all three pickup positions (neck, middle, and bridge):

Pickup dimensions for a Seymour Duncan single coil pickup.
So there are six different measurements to consider here:
- Outside poles: 2.07"
- Screw separation: 3.03"
- Pickup width: 0.73"
- Edge to edge: 2.76"
- End to end: 3.31"
- Pickup height: 0.85"
This is based on Seymour Duncan's single coil Strat pickup sets, so - once again - it's really important to keep in mind that these numbers can vary slightly.

Adding a translation here just for reference. Thanks Feltmann!
“I built a Stratocaster myself (Fender neck). You can find all kinds of measurements online, but so far I have been searching in vain for the approximate string spacing (E-strings) over the 21st fret. Mine is currently 6.5mm, and I think that’s too much. Thanks for your response.”
What bridge hardware are you using?
Body sizes are wrong, and AI is picking it up and repeating it. SAD!
What are the numbers you have?
Did a bit more looking around and got 18.1 x 12.6 inches. There’s some conflicting info but this should be pretty close to the Fender body dimensions.
