The Best Mahogany Acoustic Guitar (our top pick)
The Taylor GS Mini (e) Mahogany Acoustic
The GS Mini series is one of the most popular acoustic guitars on the market. This particular model gets you the solid Mahogany top and ES2 pickup/preamp system. It's also an incredibly resonant guitar given the scaled down size, in stark contrast to similar models from other brands. I find the smaller, grand symphony body styles a lot more comfortable, just make sure that shape is something you're interested in before buying.

Why I Like the Taylor GS Mini Mahogany
Check the price of the GS Mini Mahogany in the tracker below, but when I published this page it was around $700, which is a fantastic value for what you get in return. The ES-B electronics and X-bracing are high-end features that add to the value we already get from the Mahogany top. So it's consistently one of our top acoustic guitar recommendations in this price range. There's little, if anything, to complain about.

Selection and Recommendation Methodology
I always focus on brands that I trust, and models I've used. If I haven't used something, I'll consult with another guitar player who has, or leave it out of my recommendation lists entirely. In other words, you're always getting recommendations from real musicians and guitar players. This lets us recommend a smaller number of guitars (and other gear), but with more reliable experience and consistency. If you have questions about our process, we want you to ask.

The Martin 000-15M Mahogany Acoustic (honorable mention plus price tracker)
If you're looking for a higher-end Mahogany acoustic guitar, my next recommendation is the Martin 000-15M. Unlike the GS Mini, this guitar is almost entirely made of Mahogany - top, back, sides, and even the neck.

This creates a very warm sounding tone, more so than the GS Mini, which should be considered if you're deciding between the two. It's certainly more advanced than an intermediate acoustic, ideal for semi-pro to pro duties.
