Best Neck Pickup to Pair with DiMarzio Super Distortion
Compatibility Notes: Make sure you check to see if there are multiple string versions of these pickups and that you're getting the right one. Seven string versions are fairly common.
Note about the Super Distortion Pickups
The Super Distortion DP100 humbuckers can all go in the bridge or neck position, so you could just double up on those if you wanted. However, we'll assume you want something that mixes things up a bit, so we're covering three others that are specified for the neck, while staying within the DiMarzio brand.

1. DiMarzio PAF '59 Neck Humbucker
This '59 will give you the more vintage tone of the three. Think smooth overdrive and blues, while the Super Distortion handles your more intense sounds from the bridge position.

DiMarzio D Activator
This is a passive pickup with an active-esque tone and high output. It's a good pairing for the DP100 if you want to go with a more aggressive, percussive, and modern tone.

DiMarzio LiquiFire Neck Humbucker
The LiquiFire gives off a John Petrucci kind of vibe that's aggressive, but also really articulate and nuanced. It's a nice balance between thicker highs and percussive lows, better for more of a technical, lead guitar metal style.

I use a Dimarzio Super Distortion on the bridge of my Harley V …transformed it !!
Awesome! Yea I think it’s made for either position.
I have used the SD from Dimarzio a lot and I like the standard PAF pro in the neck since it’s a little trebly and can also work in the bridge in a pinch.
I love Dimarzios as I’ve found they sound like their descriptions in their advertising so I can trust it..
Good call, and thanks for sharing on this.
