Best 7-String Electric Guitar Under $1000: Ibanez RG Series (RG7420EX)
I've been recommending the Ibanez RG electrics for years because they have a really wide price range and consistently give you a high degree of quality for what you pay. Though keep in mind, they tend to discontinue and upgrade these models pretty regularly, and there are a lot of them, so you might have to dig around to find an ideal fit. When I published this page, the RG7420EX was my go-to 7 string recommendation that still came in under $1000.

1. Ibanez RG7420EX 7-String (RG Series)
Best overall 7-string electric under $1000 (best value).

This RG is a good candidate for a pickup upgrade at some point, but for what you pay it's an excellent guitar. The Ibanez RG series in general provides a lot of value, so browse around to some of the other models.
2. Schecter Omen Elite 7
Best multi-scale 7 string under $1000

There are a lot of different versions of the Omen Elite and they're not all multi-scale, so if that's what you're looking for, make sure you can spot the slanted frets before you buy.
3. Jackson X Series Soloist SLAT7
Best seven string with EMG pickups under $1000

Like the Misha Signature (below), the SLAT7 from the Jackson X Series is at the top of our price range. However, you get active EMG pickups, which I'd highly recommend if you're going with a 7-string guitar.
4. Jackson Pro Series Signature Misha Mansoor Juggernaut HT7 (honorable mention)
Honorable mention seven string under $1000

The Misha Mansoor signature model from the Jackson Pro Series is at the top of our price range, but it gives you a nice quality bump compared to the Omen and RG models. It's more of a "pro level" seven string. I like the X Series Soloist better, but this is a worthy honorable mention for our list.
