Best Overall Singlecut Electric Guitar: PRS SE McCarty 594 Singlecut
I did my own review of the PRS SE McCarty 594, although I have to admit it was NOT the singlecut version. Still, most of the observations from my glowing review apply to the singlecut version as well. This is one of my favorite guitars overall, and certainly one of the best-value singlecut electrics you can get. After the review I kept mine and made it a part of my main guitar lineup, second only to my 2005 PRS CE 24. It's great on cleans, high gain, and everything in between. Buy confidently.

1. PRS SE Singlecut McCarty 594
Best-value singlecut electric, versatile and good for a wide range of styles, particularly rhythm focused players.

I've said all there is to say on this one. Great guitar overall. My top pick. You're welcome.
2. ESP LTD EC-1000
Best singlecut electric guitar with EMG pickups.

I'm always comfortable recommending a modern electric guitar with active EMG pickups like the EC-1000. If you're into metal and hard rock, this is a good look.
3. PRS Mark Tremonti Signature
Best high-end singlecut electric guitar.

There's a cheaper SE version of this guitar, but I'm not a huge fan of it. The mainline Tremonti signature model though (made in Maryland) is fantastic. If you're a high-dollar guitar shopper, give this a look. Check the mainline McCarty as well.
4. Schecter Solo II Custom (honorable mention)
Best Schecter singlecut electric guitar.

There's a version of this guitar with Lundgren pickups, though this model (perhaps due to the really cool finish) is a lot more popular. I like them both. Honorable mention here since it's similar to the EC-1000.

Why only mention US guitars? There are a lot of other non American brands that are good too: Gordon Smith, Hagstrom, FGN, Tokai just name a few.
Thanks, Mart. I’ll check ’em out and maybe add to the list.
