Best Strymon BigSky Alternative (our top pick)
Strymon BlueSky Reverberator
Our top Strymon BigSky alternative recommendation is the BlueSky Reverberator which is made by Strymon to be a scaled down, more affordable pedal that's similar to the BigSky. It's your best option if you just want something smaller and cheaper.

The Strymon BigSky is one of the most advanced reverb pedals to ever be manufactured. Strymon is known for producing high caliber effects pedals, particularly because of both the BigSky and TimeLine.

Why is the Strymon BigSky so expensive?
Strymon puts a lot of work and time into developing their pedals, and the Strymon BigSky is one of their most complex, high-functioning products.
It has 12 different reverb types (programmed algorithms) and 300 presets onboard with a banking system that lets you cycle through to whatever sounds you want. Most importantly, it just sounds fantastic.
It also has MIDI control.
So based on the simple fact that it's feature-rich, and is manufactured by a company with a reputation for building very high quality pedals, the high price point makes sense.
Are the alternatives just as good as the BigSky?
While the alternatives we've listed here are good, even fantastic, you can't really argue that they are "just as good" as the Strymon. It's very much in a class by itself in terms of functionality and tone quality.

The Strymon BigSky is definitely at the top of the reverb pedal food chain.
The old adage holds true: You get what you pay for.
If we assume you want a reduction in price, we have to go with pedals that are in a lower quality tier than the BigSky
They're great options, but they are a downgrade.
Conclusion
Your decision will depend mostly on how big of a discount you're after.
If that's your primary concern, the TC Electronic Hall of Fame will likely get you the lowest price. But if you just want a 20 percent or so cost cut, the BlueSky will get you essentially a scaled down version of the BigSky.
And we should add, the BigSky might not even be necessary in your situation. It's ideally for guitar players that use a lot of ambient tones and like to experiment with a lot of different settings and sounds.
If you want a simpler reverb pedal, the Strymon BigSky alternatives we've listed here may even be a better overall choice for you.
