What are the Differences Between the MANLEY VOXBOX and Avalon 737?
Processing, frequency response, i/o profile.
Major differences here are the De-Esser processing in the VOXBOX, along with the frequency response (wider in the 737), and the i/o setup, which is significantly more comprehensive in the VOXBOX.

The VOXBOX could probably win out based on the i/o options alone. The VT-737 is just really weak on that front. Image via Nikola Feve

The 737sp has a wider frequency range and is a lot cheaper, but you lose in the i/o department. Image via Make Noise Pro Audio
Price Guide for VOXBOX and VT-737
Prices updated Fri, August 21st, 2026.
Main Differences (and similarities) Between the VOXBOX and VT-737
- Circuit Design: The VOXBOX and VT-737 both have an all-tube signal path.
- Preamp and EQ Capabilities: The VOXBOX has a more complex EQ section with more frequency control compared to the VT-737sp's simpler (yet still effective) EQ.
- Compressor Design: The VOXBOX's compressor borrows from Manley's other designs for a unique approach, while the VT-737sp's opto-compressor provides straightforward, effective dynamic control.
- De-Esser and Limiter: The VOXBOX has a more elaborate De-Esser and limiter section, offering more control over sibilance and dynamics.
- I/O Options: The i/o capabilities on the VOXBOX are way more comprehensive than the VT-737.
