This price guide includes many of the most popular Yamaha acoustic guitar models. We haven't accounted for every single Yamaha acoustic. Instead, we've focused on the top selling models that people are likely to be most interested in seeing. The price guides include some of the largest retailers, including musical instrument-specific outfits like Guitar Center and Sweetwater.
Musician's Friend and American Musical are two other places we like to recommend, though we do not have agreements in place with them and cannot pull their pricing.
Prices are filtered lowest to highest, with vendor logos to identify where the price is pulled from. Note that all pricing is up to date as of Fri, September 29th, 2023.
Many or sometimes all of the products listed here are from vendors that compensate us through partner links (our orange buttons). If you click through and make a purchase, we might receive a commission at no extra cost to you. You can check our affiliate disclosure for more information.

Yamaha Price Comparison from Multiple Vendors
As mentioned, our Yamaha guitar price listings are from vendors we have agreements with that provide us with access to their pricing database. This means that all the prices you see here are 100 percent accurate. However, it's still possible that the pricing you see on each vendors website could potentially differ slightly, depending on how quickly our tables can update. You'll also see multiple listings of the same product with minor variations.
Note that Amazon displays their price along with additional listings from third parties. This includes used options..
For eBay prices, keep in mind that these are quite volatile and most subject to change. You can click through to browse additional used options on that platform.

Features to Watch For
The important features in a Yamaha acoustic guitar are going to be the same that we'd recommend in most other acoustic brands. If you want to look at our parent roundup of acoustics, you can check the following link.

But as a quick summary, here's what we'd recommend keeping an eye on:
- Preamp/electronics: Does it include them? If so, what brand?
- Tonewood type: Is it solid or laminate?
- Interior bracing
- Price/quality (value)
These are the main issues to consider when buying a Yamaha acoustic guitar.
How are prices set?
The aforementioned features are also a big part of how Yamaha sets prices for their acoustic guitars. For example, preamps and solid tonewood are more expensive to produce, which means acoustic guitars with those features will retail higher. Cost of production is passed on to the consumer and then retail is set higher than the cost of production so that Yamaha can make a profit.
Cheaper Yamaha acoustic guitars are typically going to have laminate or layered tonewood and will omit the electronics and preamp system.
But broadly, prices are always set based on what it costs to produce the guitar in the first place.
Economic factors - the price of lumber, for example - can cause prices to change.
