The BEst Schecter Guitar Overall? Our Top Pick
Schecter Banshee Mach-6 (Banshee series)
Within the Banshee series you have 6 and 7-string versions, along with a few different bridges to pick from (Floyd Rose, EverTune, and Hipshot). That combination with the Lundgren humbuckers (or one Lundgren at the bridge and Sustainiac at the neck), makes this a really heavy, modern guitar. It's the highest possible quality at the lowest possible price from Schecter.

BEST FOR: Tuning down, metal, hard/modern rock, percussive styles, power chords, and intermediate to advanced players.

- Sustainiac and Lundgren pickup combination is absolutely fantastic.
- The Maple top is how Les Pauls and mainline PRS electrics are set up.
- A creative blend of tonewood .
- Lots of bridge options
- Multiple string versions (Mach-6 and Mach-7) available
- I'm really not a fan of the Roman numeral fret inlays.
- Not particularly cheap (but still a good value given the quality standards met)

Why I like the Schecter Banshee Series
My disclaimer, that applies to almost all Schecter guitars, is that you need to be in this game for the metal and modern rock genres. That means aggressive (probably active) pickups, high-quality third-party bridge hardware, and perhaps a 7-string if you're into lower tunings. Even the six string version of the Banshee is designed for heavier styles and tuning down. And while there are cheaper Schecter guitars, the Banshee Mach-6 strikes a good balance of price and quality. As always, this is opinion, and your situation could call for something different, so do your own research before pulling the trigger.
Selection and Recommendation Methodology
Our methodology here is really simple. We just stick to brands that are well-known and trusted and that we have experience with. I always make an effort to recommend electric guitars that I've used myself, and if I can't do that, I subsidize with thorough research and secondhand information from someone who has used it. Know that you're always getting recommendations from real guitar players, either myself or others I work with, and not ghostwriters. If you have questions about our process, please feel free to ask.
Compare More Schecter Guitars
You can compare other Schecter guitars to the Banshee by searching for them here and adding them to the comparison bar at the bottom of this page. There are plenty of other brands and models as well. We don't have everything, but we have a lot, and are adding to it regularly.
